Hawaii Travel Requirements

Visiting Hawaii? If so, you’ll need to know what the Hawaii travel requirements are. The state has recently changed some of its travel regulations, including the requirement to get the COVID-19 vaccination and a negative coronavirus test. For domestic travelers, this means no more five-day quarantine for travelers who haven’t been vaccinated against this disease. Still, you must have proof of vaccination, or else you’ll face the hassle of quarantine upon arrival.
There are some pre-travel tests you’ll need to take before traveling to Hawaii, including the COVID-19 test. Hawaii has changed its pre-travel testing requirements so that out-of-state travelers must have proof of a negative test before arriving. If you’re traveling with your children, you may want to schedule the test before you travel to ensure that everyone on your flight is protected. The testing for this disease is listed in the section above.
To get more information, visit the state’s website. It will explain Hawaii travel requirements, quarantine rules, and other issues that you should know before traveling. There are also links to helpful resources about COVID-19 and novel coronavirus. If you’re planning to travel to Hawaii, make sure you check with the CDC to make sure you’re up-to-date on the latest information. But don’t worry – you can get the required vaccinations in time!
The State of Hawaii has some strict rules about quarantines and compliance. As of March 26, 2022, there are no indoor mask mandates in Hawaii. But the Hawaii Tourism Authority has made it a point to ban people from renting vehicles while they’re quarantined. Depending on the state of quarantine, this could lead to serious consequences, including jail time. This policy is in place until further notice, and travelers are responsible for paying quarantine costs.
On May 18, Gov. David Ige issued a phased reopening outline for Hawaii. Starting June 16, medium-risk businesses and activities will open up. These businesses include in-person religious services, museums, theaters, and indoor fitness facilities. In addition, personal services and dine-in restaurants will resume operations. As of June 30, the state will continue to have some travel restrictions. The rules regarding vaccinations haven’t changed, but the restrictions will remain in effect for the remainder of the year.
If you have been vaccinated in the U.S., you don’t need a pre-travel vaccine. The same applies to travelers traveling trans-Pacific, though. People who have had their vaccinations while in the U.S. can bypass the five-day quarantine. Otherwise, you’ll need to comply with Hawaii’s mandatory 10-day quarantine. If you have a vaccine-exemption, you can travel to Hawaii without having to worry about getting sick.
